This international BRIDGES 2022 meeting will bring experts from all over the world for five days to share data and experiences on gender bias in academic environments from an intersectional perspective.
The Secretary of State for Equality and against Gender Violence of the Ministry of Equality, Ángela Rodríguez and the Councilor Delegate for Equality, Diversity and Inclusive Policies Juana Navarro Blasco will inaugurate the meeting on 13 September at 9 am in the Aula Magna of the Gandía Campus of the Universitat Politécnica de Valéncia.
During the meeting, seven keynote talks will be given by international speakers who are leaders in gender studies. In addition, the programme includes four round tables, workshops and more than 100 presentations. A family zone, quiet spaces, and an exhibition space for publishers and organisations are part of the offer of this interdisciplinary meeting.
The conference will be hybrid: onsite and online, facilitating accessibility for speakers and participants from all over the world. The organisers have promoted the development of solutions to adapt the meeting to the needs of all those who wish to attend. For example, in addition to family-friendly and quiet spaces, there will be real-time translation options (thanks to volunteers), fee waivers have been offered and a system of registration fees has been established for online attendance that takes the GDP per capita of the participant's country into consideration.
BRIDGES 2022 is organized by: Mujeres con los Pies en la Tierra, Transmitting Science, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, PRISMA, Institut Català de Paleontologia Miquel Crusafont, Zurich University, Université de Montpellier, Universitat de Barcelona and Universidad de Vigo.
