MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Academic qualification: Diploma, Degree or Bachelor's Degree and Master's degree in Science Communication, History of Science or equivalent
  • Languages: Good level of spoken and written English; advanced level of spoken and written Catalan and Spanish
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in scientific communication
  • Expertise: High level of writing press releases, web content and informative articles; mastery of content management systems (CMS); knowledge of web analytics and metrics (KPI) and Adobe Suite graphic design tools
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Implementation of the ICP's communication policy in the field of scientific dissemination
  2. Coordination of media interests and responding to their requests
  3. Implementation of the internal communication policy (press releases, newsletters, intranet, talks)
  4. Ensuring appropriate use of the ICP brand and logo in printed and electronic materials
  5. Maintenance of the website and social media profiles
  6. Updating SCI publications on the website and relevant digital repositories
  7. Generation and supervision of scientific dissemination content (news, press releases and press conferences)
  8. Supervision and coordination of communication activities by interpretation centres and museums with agreements
  9. Dissemination of the ICP Museum's exhibitions and activities to the general public and the educational community
  10. Supervision and/or preparation of the ICP's annual reports
  11. Provision of specific guidelines to research staff for the dissemination of events and publications
  12. Support to research staff in the design and execution of outreach activities
  13. Fundraising initiatives related to scientific communication
  14. Teaching in master's degrees
DESIRABLE SKILLS
  • Graphic design training
  • Advanced level of spoken and written English
  • Proven experience in communication departments of research centres or universities
  • Content planning, editorial calendar management and community dynamization on social networks
  • Use of email marketing platforms
  • Design and implementation of communication and media relations policies
CONTRACT DURATION AND SALARY

Permanent contract, full time (37.5 hours/week). Annual gross salary between €32,409.72 and €37,541.69

REQUIREMENTS
  • Academic qualifications: PhD in Biology, Geology, Science, or equivalent.
  • Languages: Good spoken and written English (no certificate required).
  • Experience: Four years of postdoctoral experience (at least one year abroad).
  • Expertise: Paleohistology and life history evolution.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
  1. Collaborate with other members of the research group to achieve the group’s specific objectives in accordance with the ICP’s strategic goals and scientific policy, including publications, contributions to meetings, and fieldwork activities.
  2. Participate in research grant applications led by other group members, with a possible role as co-principal investigator in major projects and principal investigator in smaller projects.
  3. Co-supervise PhD theses and supervise Master’s and undergraduate dissertations.
  4. Publish articles in SCI journals, normally as first author or co-author, but occasionally as senior or corresponding author (when acting as supervisor).
  5. Attend and contribute to international scientific meetings.
  6. Teach in Master’s programmes according to current agreements between the ICP and universities (maximum 20 hours per academic year).
  7. (Co-)lead and/or participate in planned and emergency paleontological interventions involving survey, excavation and/or sampling.
  8. Participate in the editorial boards of SCI journals.
  9. Report regularly to the Director and the Head of the Communication and Scientific Outreach Area on publications in which the researcher is (co-)author.
  10. Submit fieldwork reports and reports on (co-)directed paleontological interventions to the head of the Research Group.
  11. Inform the Head of the Communication and Scientific Outreach Area of all relevant information regarding research and outreach activities carried out.
DESIRABLE COMPETENCES
  • Supervision of completed Master’s dissertations and/or PhD theses.
  • Leadership and/or participation in fieldwork.
  • Principal investigator in research projects and/or fieldwork.
  • R3 certificate.
CONTRACT DURATION AND SALARY Permanent contract, R3.1 category, with a gross annual salary of €32,932.46.
