REQUIREMENTS

Ph.D. in Biology, Geology, Sciences, or equivalent.

TASKS TO BE PERFORMED

• Responsibilities of a senior postdoctoral researcher, as specified in the ICP organizational chart.
• Support for dissemination and conservation tasks at the Museum of the Conca Dellà and the "Dinosaures dels Pirineus" project: collaboration in planning temporary and permanent exhibitions, coordinating content for social media, preparing local project applications, and participating in technical committees (XMLLA and XMCNC).

EVALUATION CRITERIA

• A minimum of 4 years of postdoctoral experience.
• Publications in dinosaur paleobiology and Cretaceous fauna, with an emphasis on dinosaur reproduction, systematics, and paleoecology of Cretaceous environments.
• Experience in fieldwork and research on dinosaur fossils from sites in Catalonia.
• Knowledge of the dissemination project "Dinosaures dels Pirineus".

CONTRACT DURATION AND SALARY

The contract will be indefinite for scientific activities, funded by the "Dinosaures dels Pirineus" project, with a gross annual salary of €31,500 and a professional category of R2 (Postdoctoral Researcher).

Generation of 3D models from digitization systems such as tomography, photogrammetry, and surface scanners.

Data processing of radiographic and tomographic scans of fossil and biological samples.

3D model processing for biomechanical computer simulations.

Organization and management of the generated datasets.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

Master’s degree in Paleobiology, Biodiversity, or similar.

Proficiency in the use of the following software: Avizo, Geomagic, Ansys, and Blender.

Knowledge of R programming language.

Fluency in written and spoken Catalan, Spanish, and English.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage or similar, fluency in written and spoken Catalan and Spanish, and experience in paleontological preparation tasks and conservation of natural history collections.

TASKS TO BE PERFORMED

The selected candidate will join the Preparation and Conservation Area of the ICP's Research Support and External Services Department. Main tasks will include paleontological preparation and reproduction of fossil specimens, documentation of preparation tasks, creation of supports and packaging. Additionally, the candidate may contribute to research on preparation materials and methods, which may be presented at conferences and/or publications, or participate in preparation and/or conservation courses (co-)organized by the ICP. The contracted person will also collaborate on conservation projects of natural history collections derived from the provision of external services.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

Training in paleontological preparation and natural history conservation

Training and/or experience in mold and replica making

Contributions to conferences and workshops related to paleontological heritage conservation and restoration

Communication skills and scientific dissemination

CONTRACT DURATION AND SALARY

The contract will last for 14 months, funded by the Quadriennals 2022-2025 projects, with a gross annual salary of €22,000 and a professional category of T2 (Preparation Technician)
