Between February 26 and 27, a delegation composed of researchers and transfer managers from the six CERCA centers in social sciences and humanities (CED, CREI, IBEI, ICAC, IPHES, and ICRPC), joined by the ICP, visited Leiden University in the Netherlands. The main objective of the visit was to personally meet with Dr. Jessica Meijer, Head of Innovation and Business Development at LURIS, Leiden University's transfer unit.
Dr. Meijer has been working with the heads of each center since January to prepare an action plan that lays the groundwork for advancing innovation and impact of these centers towards society, integrating it into their strategic agenda.
During the trip, participants were able to learn about the operation of the "Digital Scholarship" specialized in the application of digital technologies in the academic and research world. The "Digital Humanities Lab" was also introduced, a platform that provides advanced equipment and specialized personnel to meet the demands of researchers and students. From the Institut Català de Paleontologia Miquel Crusafont (ICP), José Antonio Fuentes, General Manager, and David Basanta, Head of the Research Support and External Services Department, participated.
The innovation plan in social sciences and humanities is part of the knowledge transfer promotion program of the CERCA System, which began this year with funding from the Direcció General de Transferència i Societat del Coneixement.
