PhD. Evolutionary Paleobiology
(Barcelona, 1992)
Graduated in Biology (University of Barcelona, 2014) specialized in Biodiversity and Interuniversity Master’s degree on Paleontology (UAB-UB, 2015) with the project “Turolian dwarf Hipparion from Spain: inferring life-history mechanisms underlying size shift from dental microstructure”.
Pre-doctoral researcher at the Evolutionary Paleobiology department of the Institut Català de Paleontologia (ICP) under the supervision of Dr. Meike Köhler. His thesis is focused on the study of an equid fossil group, the hipparionine horses, and the changes in their life-histories in response to the environmental shifts during the Neogene. The understanding of this adaptations is crucial for the animal’s conservation, considering the actual scene of climate change.
His relation with the Evolutionary Paleobiology department started during his Final Degree Project “Life-histories of extant and fossil dormice through their bone histology”, developed in association with the Ecology department of the UB, where he had a collaboration scholarship (2013-2014).
He is granted with a FI grant from the Departament d'Empresa i Coneixement (Generalitat de Catalunya), the Agència de Gestió d'Ajuts Universitaris i de Recerca (AGAUR) and Secretaria d'Universitats i Recerca, co-financed with the Fons Social Europeu.
