Predoc. Neogene and Quaternary Faunas

 

Graduated in Geology by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) in 2011, with its last year specialization in Paleontology. Posteriorly, he finished a Masters in Paleontology by the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB) and the Universitat de Barcelona (UB), studying in his master thesis the outer and inner morphology of a Pliocene hyaenid, under the tutorship of the ICP researcher Joan Madurell-Malapeira.

He is currently doing is Ph.D. at the ICP continuing the study that he started in his master thesis about fossil Hyaenids. He is focused in new virtual techniques to study fossil specimens (mainly based on computer tomography), as well as the study of the morphology and evolution of the brain in the Hyaenidae family.

From the beginning of his degree, he has been working and collaborating in many paleontological sites across the Iberian Cenozoic (Cerro de los Batallones, Somosaguas, Can Llobateres, Incarcal and Orce); including also some famous dinosaur sites abroad (Hell-creek, Egg Mountain; Montana).
