Neogene and Quaternary Faunas

He holds a Degree in Biological Sciences by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a PhD in Paleontology (Faculty of Geological Sciences) by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. His research line has focused on micromammal paleontology (systematics, evolution and biodiversity, emphasizing on the rodents of the family Gliridae) and its bearing on biostratigraphy, biochronology, paleobiogeography and paleoecology of the Eurasian Continental Neogene. He has participated as a researcher in national and international competitive I+D+i projects, as well as in numerous contracts with public administrations and private companies. He has been member of the teams responsible for organizing and carrying out numerous excavation campaigns and paleontological surveys in different continental basins of the Iberian Peninsula.

Simultaneously, he has supervised a PhD thesis and a Masters’ Final Project. He has conducted (and currently conducts) teaching activities in official university studies (degree, undergraduate, master's degree), in Compulsory Secondary Education, as well as in various training, outreach and dissemination, as well as non-formal education activities related to natural sciences.
