La XVI edición de este encuentro anual ha contado con la participación de más de 190 personas de 23 países diferentes. Aparte de las ponencias y presentaciones de pósters habituales en este tipo de congresos, la edición de este año ha ofrecido dos cursos gratuitos a los participantes, uno de ellos organizado por Soledad Esteban-Trivigno, investigadora del Instituto Catalán de Paleontología Miquel Crusafont (ICP) y responsable de Transmitting Science (TS), que ha impartido la formación "First Steps Into Geometric Morphometrics".

El EAVP se fundó en 2003 y en sus encuentros anuales los investigadores presentan las últimas investigaciones en distintas disciplinas de la paleontología de vertebrados (sistemática, bioestratigrafía, conservación de fósiles, etc.). Además de presentar novedades, el congreso es un punto de encuentro para establecer colaboraciones internacionales.
