Computational Biomechanics and Life-history Evolution
I’m a PhD student in the Computational Paleobiology & Life History Evolution Research Group at the Institut Català de Paleontologia Miquel Crusafont. My journey in paleontology began with a degree in Biology from the Universitat de Girona, followed by a Master’s in Paleobiology and Fossil Record from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Universitat de Barcelona. During my Master’s, I explored the biomechanics of crocodile skulls using computational methods, which gave me a deep appreciation for the power of technology in studying ancient life.
I previously worked for two years as a 3D Technician at the Catalan Institute of Paleontology under the Investigo program. Currently, I hold a technical position in the same department, now funded by a project grant from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation.
My PhD research focuses on the evolutionary history of the genus Gallotia, where I use a combination of biomechanics, digital modeling, and evolutionary analysis to uncover new insights into the adaptations and evolution of this fascinating reptilian group.
